A little bit of History :

The term Cayra, Caria or Queyries has been used since the Middle Ages to refer to the vast marshland that stretched out at the foot of the Cenon and Lormont hillsides, formed from alluvial deposits and planted with osieries and then vines from the 14th century onwards. At the time the bridge was built, the area was still dominated by country estates. At the beginning of the 21st century, the area bordered by the Quai des Queyries was completely redeveloped.
